Personal Life Coaching is different than therapy, working with a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, or Mental Health Counselor is considered being in therapy. These Professionals address mental illness and complicated psychological processes that can interfere with a person’s functioning.
Working with a Personal Coach is like a GPS System that guides us into new areas. GPS Systems take some of the uncertainty out of our concerns of getting lost and making sure we stay on the right track.
Consider your Coach your personal GPS system. He or she will help you track your daily habits, and help you to decipher what works and what doesn’t. Having a guide to help you look at who you are, what you want to change about yourself, and keeping you motivated and accountable to yourself, is priceless.
We all should have an advocate:
- A person who will not judge
- A person who will not be afraid to tell you to look at something differently
- A person who you can trust and know they have your best interest at heart
- A person who will make you think differently
- A person that will help guide you
Your Coach is that person.
Don’t hesitate to start, don’t make it hard. It is normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious when you start something new, but that is why you have a guide. Your Coach will help you to make it work for you.
Everyone learns differently, your sessions will be coordinated to address your specific needs.
Make the commitment to do something good for yourself. It’s time to focus on feeling better, talking to your coach and looking at things in a new way.
You deserve to be happy. Give yourself some personal time so that when you feel good, the people around you feel good too.
Don’t be afraid of change, you can always go back to thinking the way you did. It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.
